Dr. Lori Baudino, BC-DMT
I believe that therapeutic strategies should be tailored uniquely to the individual, utilizing specific goals and tools for your child and family circumstances. The goal is to find approaches and tools that will actually be used in everyday life. I use preventative strategies and “options parenting”, which allows you to address situations in the moment based on your child’s developmental and actual age with an understanding of his/her specific capabilities.
I focus on a mind/body approach, including Dance/Movement Therapy, which encompasses more than just verbal communication. The body exhibits emotions and psychological experiences through movement patterns, and by identifying and bringing awareness to these connections, families can reach their maximum potential for overall health and well-being.
Dance/Movement therapy is the therapeutic use of movement to further the emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration of the individual based on the empirically premise that the body, mind, and spirit are interconnected.
